UFC 304 Fight Card Announced; Leon Edwards vs. Belal Muhammad Featured in Main Event♥
Manchester, England since 2016, the main card for UFC 304 has been unveiled.
Dana White announced the main event will feature Leon Edwards defending the welterweight title against Belal Muhammad.
The other matches on the card include Tom Aspinall defending the interim heavyweight title against Curtis Blaydes; Bobby Green taking on Paddy Pimblett; Muhammad Mokaev vs. Manel Kape; and Arnold Allen vs. Giga Chikadze.
Edwards will be making his fourth title defense since winning the welterweight crown from Kamaru Usman at UFC 278. The 32-year-old star is riding a 13-fight unbeaten streak dating back to 2016.
The only fight that didn’t end with a victory for Edwards during this stretch was against Muhammad in the main event of a Fight Night card in March 2021. The bout was ruled a no-contest when Muhammad was accidentally poked in the eye and unable to continue.
Muhammad is riding his own 10-fight unbeaten streak. His last loss was to Geoff Neal in January 2019.
Aspinall will be making his first defense of the interim heavyweight title. He won the interim championship by defeating Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 295 in a show that was originally going to be headlined by Jon Jones defending the title against Stipe Miocic.
An injury to Jones forced a significant change to the card, with White making an interim heavyweight title bout between Aspinall and Pavlovich.
Blaydes will challenge Aspinall after a dominant win over Jailton Almeida at UFC 299 on March 9. The fight ended via knockout 36 seconds into the second round.
This will mark the first time Blaydes is challenging for a title in his mixed martial arts career. The 33-year-old is 18-4 with one no-contest in 23 fights.
UFC 304 will take place at the Co-op Live on July 27. This will be the fifth event held in Manchester and the first since UFC 204 in October 2016.
