Sergio Garcia sends brutal 4 worded message to PGA officials after been disqualified set to miss out on US Open for first time since 1999
LIV Golf star Sergio Garcia has been denied a place in the 2024 US Open after he was defeated in a playoff at US Open qualifier in Dallas.
Sergio Garcia is set to miss the US Open for the first time since 1999 after the LIV Golf star lost out in a playoff at a qualifier in Dallas.
Garcia, 44, opened with a 66 but then went on to shoot a disappointing 73 in the second (and final) round.
That saw Garcia end up in a seven-man playoff for the final six spots.
The 2017 Masters champion would unfortunately make bogey in the playoff, and he would become the lone man out.
Garcia missed a par putt from around eight feet, which you can see below.

Brandon Wu birdied and McGowan made a par.
Now Sergio must wait to see if someone will bogey or worse or he will be OUT of the US Open
Brandon Wu, Michael McGowan, Parker Bell (a), SH Kim, Sung Kang and Logan McAllister would all advance through the playoff.
Garcia now becomes the first alternate into the US Open, so all is not yet lost for the 16-time European Tour winner.
The last time Garcia failed to qualify for the US Open was 25 years ago when the tournament was also at Pinehurst.
Late great Payne Stewart went on to land the second of his two US Open titles that week.
A number of other LIV Golf players missed out on qualifying from the Dallas event including Abraham Ancer and Caleb Surratt.
LIV Golf star and 2018 Masters champion Patrick Reed chose to withdraw from the qualifier.
The decision ends Reed’s streak of playing in every major since the 2014 Masters.
Notable PGA Tour players to miss out in the Dallas qualifier included Kevin Streelman, Scott Piercy, Vincent Norman, Lanto Griffin, Ryan Moore and Cameron Champ.
Nico Echavarria won the US Open qualifier at Dallas Athletic Club following scores of 67 and 68.
Mac Meissner and LIV Golf’s Eugenio Lopez Chacarra finished one shot back in a tie for second to also earn their spots in the US Open.
Takumi Kanaya and Francesco Molinari also came through in tied fourth.
Elsewhere, nine players came through Walton Heath’s US Open qualifier.
Grant Forrest, Richard Mansell and Brandon Robinson Thompson shared top honours to earn their US Open places.
Sam Bairstow and Robert Rock finished tied fourth to also come through qualifying.
The final four spots were shared amongst Edoardo Molinari, Jason Scrivener, Matteo Manassero and Tom McKibbin.
Three players also came through a US Open qualifier in Japan: Ryo Ishikawa, Riki Kawamoto and Taisei Shimizu.
There will another chance for players to qualify for the US Open in golf’s longest day on Monday June 3 where Final Qualifiers will come through 10 sites (nine of them are in the United States, and one is in Canada).
When is the 2024 US Open?
The 2024 US Open will take place at Pinehurst from 13-16 June.
The 124th edition of the major championship will see 156 players compete for golf’s coveted prize in North Carolina.
