prompts concern with ‘crackhead’ comment
Anthony Kim appears to have shone a light on his past with a post about not letting ‘a crackhead’ outwork him as he attempts to ignite his LIV Golf career.
Anthony Kim appeared to cause concern among golf fans on X after giving us an insight into his struggles with addiction during his absence from the game.
Kim took to the platform on 3 July to post a motivational comment.
In case you aren’t aware, Kim has been posting regularly on social media since he returned from the wilderness.
So far, he’s met fire with fire with just about every keyboard warrior.
And he’s even sparred multiple times with Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee.
Kim left the PGA Tour in 2012 and became a cult figure, given his abrupt decision to walk away without explanation.
It was widely assumed that he took a huge insurance payout after injuries curtailed his career.
And there were rumours he spent the years partying, given his penchant for visiting nightclubs and strip clubs.
Kim officially joined the breakaway LIV Golf League in February 2024 and confirmed some of the rumours were true.
And it’s fair to say his results haven’t been the best since.
Through seven appearances, Kim is yet to break into the top 40 in the 54-man fields.
He’s not deterred though, and can be seen regularly putting in the effort off the course.
“Does a crakhead ever let a day go by w/out finding a way to get high?,” he wrote.
“NO. I would know. Not gonna let a crakhead outwork me today. 1% better today lessssgoo!!!”
Kim’s post sparked an interesting reaction, to say the least.
“This is an INSANE tweet,” one X user wrote. “LOL this a professional golfer,” another added.
Another person thought it was hilarious Kim also tagged in one of his sponsors, Bianchet Watches.
“@BianchetWatches, watches for crackhead GIRLDADS everywhere.”
Others were more supportive of Kim.
“Continue to let the dead say dead,” one of his supporters wrote. “You have a new life, continue to be strong and never in denial.”
Another added: “Man, I am happy for you AK for turning things around, getting better and improving your life. Godspeed, brother.”
Kim will next be in action with the rival league over 12-14 July at LIV Andalucia in Spain.
The breakaway tour then heads to England for LIV Golf UK at JCB Golf and Country Club.
