‘Not out of my hands’ – Rory McIlroy on his chances to win the…
As we all know, McIlroy quickly disappeared from Pinehurst before announcing he’d be missing from the game for a bit to take some time off.
However, the Northern Irishman is now set to return to action as he comes to Scotland this week to defend his Scottish Open title.
Last year saw McIlroy produce a stunning shot with his 2-iron on the last hole to see off Robert MacIntyre and take the title himself at The Renaissance Club.
Going into this year’s tournament, McIlroy will once again be a huge favourite to take the crown.
And out on the actual course, the tournament organisers have put a nice touch on the course for McIlroy to commemorate that stunning shot on 18.

While McIlroy is no stranger to achievements in the game, this will feel extra special for him and coming off the back of his tough loss at Pinehurst, will remind him why he plays the game.
The Scottish fans love Rory and while he beat off local hero MacIntyre last year, you can bet your bottom dollar that the crowd will be rooting for him this year.
Whether he produces something special enough to get another plaque, remains to be seen.
