Phil Mickelson Reveals What He Said To Tiger Woods At Open Championship
Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson were longtime rivals on the PGA Tour. Now, with Mickelson playing on the LIV Golf Tour, they don’t compete against each other as much.
But are they still cordial with one another?
Mickelson revealed that he and Woods said hello to each other at The Open Championship, but that was it. They were both preparing for the final major tournament of the golf season, so it’s not like there was much time for a long conversation.
But they appear to at least be on good enough terms to say hi to one another.
“We said hi,” Mickelson said, according to the Golf Channel. “Yeah, we said hi, but we were both preparing. It’s not like we’re going to sit there and chat. But we said hello, yeah.”
Neither Mickelson nor Woods had a very good time at The Open Championship this year. Mickelson finished in a tie for 60th place, at +11 for the tournament. Woods, meanwhile, missed the cut, shooting +14 through the first two rounds of the tournament.
Xander Schauffele won The Open Championship, giving the standout golfer two major championships on the season. He also won the PGA Championship.
