Tiger Woods will be making the trip back across the pond early after missing the cut at the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon Golf Club.
Woods, who fired an 8-over par 79 in his opening round on Thursday, struggled once again this morning in round two shooting a 6-over par 77 to finish at 14-over par for the championship.
After Friday’s second round, Woods spoke to the media and shared a few tidbits about his upcoming schedule after missing his third consecutive cut at a major.
While he revealed that his next start won’t be until December at The Hero World Challenge, Woods confirmed that he’ll be flying straight to the Detroit area to join his son Charlie at this week’s U.S. Junior Amateur at Oakland Hills.
Charlie Woods, the 763rd-ranked junior golfer in the world according to The Universal Golf Rankings, will begin play at the U.S. Junior Amateur on Monday.
His round one tee time is currently scheduled for 8:28 a.m. ET on the North Course at Oakland Hills CC.
Woods earned a spot in the 2024 U.S. Junior Am by winning a qualifying event in Florida earlier this year.
