Jon Rahm is one of the leading contenders for the 2024 LIV Golf UK title, as he enters the final round just three shots off the lead. However, the Spaniard did not look comfortable on day two and even had a controversial interaction with the fans.

The incident occurred on the 16th hole, where Jon Rahm was seen making angry gestures at the noise being made by the fans. He was also seen giving a disapproving look to a fan attending the event.

These actions by Jon Rahm provoked many reactions from X (formerly Twitter) users. One of them posted the following:

“I thought they like the loud boisterous rowdy crowds loud music etc? #Irony,” another user .

“I don’t understand. Isn’t LIV promoted to the Happy Gilmore bottle-rocket firing, Boombox music crowd? You get what you’re paid for,” another user posted.

Jon Rahm began LIV Golf UK by matching his best 18-hole score on the circuit. The Spaniard carded eight birdies and no bogeys in the first round (8-under 63) to take the tournament lead.

However, he did not have a similar performance in the second round. On Saturday, Rahm had four birdies and three bogeys (1-under) to drop three spots on the leaderboard.

Rahm remains three shots behind 36-hole leader Andy Ogletree.

In the team event, Legion XIII, captained by Rahm, are in first place, tied with Smash GC at 21 under. Hatton and Rahm have combined their excellent scores with those of Kieran Vincent in the first round and Caleb Surrat in the second round to remain in first place.

Rahm is looking for his first LIV Golf victory. He has an equal number of top-10s in his nine previous starts, with three third-place finishes as his best results. That keeps him in second place on the season’s individual leaderboard.

Legion XIII have won three events in 2024. This puts them in second place on the season standings
