“Never take it for granted” – Simone Biles’ husband Jonathan Owens issues a strong message after securing a spot on the 53-man roster of Chicago Bears

Simone Biles’ husband Jonathan Owens exuded pride in not taking anything for granted, as he stepped into the seventh year of his NFL journey. Owens was first signed in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent. Cut to 2024, he signed a two-year contract worth $4.75 million with the Chicago Bears.

Owens played for the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent but received a waiver due to an injury. After serving as an injured reserve the entire season, he was surrendered by the Cardinals in 2019. He was signed to the practice squad of the Houston Texans in 2019 and was on and off the active roster until the Texans signed him on a $1.175 million deal through the 2022 season.

In 2023, Simone Biles’ husband signed a one-year deal with the Green Bay Packers. During his season, the safety significantly contributed to the Packer’s victories. Owens signed a two-year contract worth $4.75 million with the Bears in 2024 and has been recently named to a 53-man roster.

He took to Instagram to post a couple of pictures, featuring him in action on the NFL field, in the gym, and practice course. His caption asserted that the success he attained was a result of not taking things for granted.

“Year 7 🙏🏽 Never take it for granted. Let’s work,” he wrote.

The 29-year-old missed a chunk of training camp to attend the Paris Olympics to cheer on Simone Biles. He also missed the Hall of Fame Game, which was scheduled amid the 2024 Summer Games.

In a recent match-up against the Cincinnati Bengals, the Bears achieved a 27-3 victory. The gymnast was present to hype her husband from the sideline  but her fashion faux pas (a Packers jacket in a Bears game) was pointed out by fans.
