High on Tiger Wood’s list of desires is a trophy alongside Charlie.

Team Woods, who have become regular participants in the PNC Championship, will strive to win when they arrive at Ritz Carlton later this year. Don’t doubt their competitive spirit.

However, their path won’t be smooth sailing as a former adversary has just been confirmed to have returned.

Despite injuries casting doubts on the Daly’s team, both John and his son will still be making an appearance at the Ritz Carlton for PNC.

Due to several injuries, Senior Daly had to pull out of both the PGA Championship and the Open Championship. However, he is now in good health as a two-time major champion.

Daly shared a clip of the PNC Championship on his Instagram story and expressed anticipation for it with the caption “Double Daly in December – can’t wait!” Both Charlie Woods and John Daly II have aged another year, which grants them ample opportunity to gain experience at this point in their lives.

In eight events played, Daly II, the Razorback sophomore (redshirt), has placed outside of the top 20 only twice. However, when it comes to their upcoming competition in golf, Team Daly will have the advantage of recent experience from a season of professional and amateur play while Woods returns after an extended hiatus from competitive matches.

Woods intends to devote a couple of months solely to practicing on the range, undergoing rehabilitation and improving his physical fitness. At present, due to being 48 years old, he cannot sustain playing consistently week after week with his days revolving around pre-arranged rehabilitative sessions before and after each round.

Woods expressed his determination to improve physically and continue working towards it, with hopes of returning for their fifth major tournament – the Father/Son. Meanwhile, Charlie’s season has been a mixture of highs such as winning the South Florida Junior PGA Cup and lows like being eliminated from the first U.S. Junior Amateur competition.

The PNC Championship has seen the Dalys and Woods teams go head-to-head before. In 2021, Team Woods came tantalizingly close to winning but were ultimately prevented by their rivals, the Dalys.

The 2021 PNC Championship features a matchup between Team Woods and Team Daly.

The team Woods came closest to clinching the title at the 2021 PNC event. The first two rounds saw a fierce competition, with an edge for the Dalys. However, Tiger Woods and Charlie’s impressive run of 11 consecutive birdies posed a significant challenge to their opponents’ hopes of retaining the championship.

Despite his age, Daly maintained composure and led the team to victory with a 27-under score – breaking the course record at that time by two strokes. Although he was content pairing up with his son, winning was an added bonus for him. Similarly, Tiger Woods expressed satisfaction just playing alongside Charlie.

As Woods Jr. and Daly II continue to mature, the level of competition is anticipated to increase annually. Despite their first Korn Ferry Tour appearance not going as planned, the Razorback sophomore remains optimistic. Similarly, Woods Jr.’s endeavor to qualify for a PGA Tour event was unsuccessful; however, with an advantage from their illustrious fathers’ triumphs in golf’s greatest contests – these young talents may very well steal the spotlight.
