Rahm says mom and baby are doing great!

Third time is a charm for the Rahm family.

While Jon Rahm may be understandably bummed this week after losing in a playoff at last weekend’s Open De España, that is certainly overshadowed by he and wife Kelley’s excitement after welcoming a new baby girl, Alaia Cahill, last Tuesday.

So blessed to have welcomed our daughter Alaia Cahill Rahm into the world last week. Mama and baby girl are both healthy and doing great, I can’t wait to get back home to them. pic.twitter.com/iRJOdfSarj

The two-time major winner arrived on Wednesday of last week to the Open De España, later than planned due to the birth, but quickly grabbed the first-round lead at his national open anyway.

This is the couple’s third child after boys Kepa and Enecko were born in 2021 and 2022, respectively. Kepa was born just days before the 2021 Masters and, like Scottie Scheffler did this past year, Rahm said he would prioritize being present for the birth of his first child over the tournament and would leave if necessary. Luckily, that wasn’t necessary as Kelley gave birth the Saturday before the event.

Rahm alluded to complications with Kelley’s pregnancy during the Open Championship in July, saying it hadn’t been “the easiest pregnancy” and she was on bedrest. However, Rahm added the caption “Mama and baby girl are both healthy and doing great, I can’t wait to get back home to them” to his post on Tuesday.

The LIV Golf star is currently in Scotland for the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, his second DP World Tour start since earning playing privileges back on the tour as he appeals his suspension and fines for joining LIV Golf last winter, in a reported $300+ million deal.

Just two weeks ago, Rahm withdrew from LIV Golf’s team championship with “severe flu symptoms” as his Legion XIII fell to fourth after finishing the regular season in second.

It was an up-and-down season for Rahm, who won twice late in the year on LIV, but didn’t contend at the Masters in his title defense, missed the cut at the PGA Championship and withdrew from the U.S. Open, before notching a T7 at the Open Championship and contending for a medal at the Olympics before a final nine collapse saw him finish T5.

All of that, of course, comes secondary to his growing family. Congrats to Kelley, Jon and the whole Rahm family!
