BOMBSHELL: Unexpected announcement Amanda balionis threatened Rory McIlroy as she said she will be reason Rory will file for divorce  the second time… Full Details Below

Erica Stoll was out watching her husband Rory McIlroy at the Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club on Thursday, just weeks after confirming they had cancelled their proposed divorce.

The pair left the golfing world in shock ahead of the PGA Championship in May, after it was announced they would be ending their marriage and filing for divorce. With their legal papers made public, their relationship was described as ‘broken’ seven years after tying the knot.

A month later, however, McIlroy and Stoll made a huge U-turn, as the Northern Irishman confirmed in the build-up to the US Open that he and his wife were in fact not divorcing and would remain married.

“There have been rumours about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate,” McIlroy told The Guardian. “Responding to each rumour is a fool’s game. Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realised that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”

Four weeks on, Stoll was back by her husband’s side on Thursday, with McIlroy defending his title at the Scottish Open. McIlroy enjoyed a successful start to the week, carding a five-under-par 65 to leave him one off the lead.

Stoll was seen following her husband around the North Berwick course, watching on from close by. The pair seemingly now have their relationship back on track amid Stoll’s appearance in Scotland, with the Northern Irishman also wearing his wedding ring, having previously ditched it in June.

Away from his personal life, McIlroy will have been keen to focus on his on-course efforts this week as he looks to bounce back from his heartbreaking defeat at the US Open a month ago. The defending champion has not featured since the third major of the year, but looked like he had never been away after a superb start.

While McIlroy believes he started slowly, he was pleased to find some form in the second half of his round which included an eagle-three at the par-five third. “I hit a couple of shots that I have not seen in practice over the next 10 days,” he told Sky Sports following his round.

“Bit of a reminder that golf is not as easy sometimes as I think it is. But then I started to feel good. I started to hit some good drives, good iron shots, and give myself some good chances on the back nine and felt like I left a couple out there. Overall a good start, especially after the scrappy start through six or seven holes.”

PALM SPRINGS — TGL’s unique format attracted interest from different companies with innovative technology and shot-tracking capabilities.

The league founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy and owned by TMRW Sports Group then evaluated all candidates and came up with the one that claims the “No. 1 range technology in golf.”

“Toptracer is the tech that allows us to have things at this massive scale,” TGL Chief Technology Officer Andrew Macaulay said. “To see it work at this scale … No one else was really able to figure out exactly how to do this large version.”

Toptracer boasts to have “traced more balls in more bays at more driving ranges in more countries than any other range technology on the planet. And it’s not even close.”

“Whenever there is such a cool opportunity to showcase tech in golf that’s really where we want to be,” said Toptracer executive Ludvig Jansson. “TGL is a perfect example of that. It is enabling golf experiences like no others through the infusion of golf. That’s really what we’re all about.”

Toptracer, whose technology has been tested for nearly two years at TGL performance labs, was announced Monday as TGL’s official ball-tracing partner. Several of the 24 PGA Tour players who have joined the league have visited the lab outside of West Palm Beach to test the technology they will be using when the league debuts early next year. Full Swing Golf is joining Toptracer as part of TGL’s technology mix.

JUST IN: Phil Mickelson lament over LIV Golf new rules I’m afraid this could be the  end he says: full details below

Phil Mickelson is preparing for the much-awaited Pros vs Schmos showdown set for Chicago, a competition governed by ‘Phil’s Book of Rules’. The ace golfer brought interest to the event by challenging LIV Golf rival Ian Poulter in May. Ahead of this, the 54-year-old revealed that he likes to make up some rules.

Mickelson was speaking in a press conference ahead of LIV Golf Greenbrier, when he talked about the ‘huge discrepancy in skill level’ between Pros and Schmos. Following this, the golfer was asked about the ‘most important rule’ in ‘Phil’s Book of Rules’. Interestingly, the six-time Major winner jokingly said he can make them up as he plays. The golfer, famous for publicly admitting to having a gambling addiction in the past, stated that there are ‘a lot of blank pages’ when it comes to golf rules.
Phil Mickelson said on Thursday (August 15) while speaking alongside his HyFlyers GC teammates, as quoted by ASAP Sports:
“(The most important rule) Is that I can make them up as we golf, so there’s like a lot of blank pages that we just kind of fill in as we go.”

Notably, his teammates quickly agreed. While Cameron Tringale said it is “most definitely true,” Brendan Steele added that it is “always good to be Phil’s partner when Phil’s book comes out.” Mickelson played along and dubbed Steele’s point to be true. While the competition has been announced, there are only mentions of the rulebook in question. It is pertinent to note that the Pros vs Schmos showdown comes months after the ace golfer reiterated the need to explore new formats and possibilities of golf to bring younger generations into the sport.

Phil Mickelson has been a stalwart for LIV Golf ever since its inception. However, the star golfer has continually struggled to get results on the breakaway tour and this season has been no different. As the 2024 schedule nears its end, Mickelson’s best result so far has been a sixth-place finish in Jeddah in March. Notably, Mickelson’s HyFlyers GC finished on the team podium in Adelaide in April. However, the veteran only managed a solo 38th-place finish at the event.
