Matt Fitzpatrick expressed his anger upon discovering that certain PGA Tour players had received invitations to compete in the BMW PGA Championship, the DP World Tour’s main event last month. Si Woo Kim, Peter Malnati, and Mark Hubbard were among the participants, much to Fitzpatrick’s dismay
The presence of PGA Tour players affected a few DP World Tour card holders, leaving the Englishman angry. Fitzpatrick noted that the Players Championship tournament of the PGA Tour does not extend invitations to DP World Tour players.
In 2020, an agreement was made for the PGA Tour to select the top 10 players from the DP World Tour at the end of each season. Fitzpatrick is uneasy about the deal, which is viewed as a strategic partnership.
