Luke Littler has given Cameron Menzies his seal of approval following the Scot’s success at the Ochoa
Luke Littler congratulated Cameron Menzies with a three-word message after the 35-year-old defeated Stephen Bunting in the final of the Players Championship 29 event on Wednesday evening. Menzies banked £15,000 after defeating Bunting 8-4 to clinch his first PDC ranking title.
Scottish ace Menzies, who is a plumber by trade and is dating fellow darts star Fallon Sherrock, enjoyed a fine run at the tournament in Leicester.
He thrashed Danny Noppert 7-1 in the semi-finals after overcoming James Wade, Krzysztof Ratajski, Rob Cross, Jacques Labre and Jose De Sousa in the earlier rounds.

After winning the tournament, Menzies took to X (formerly Twitter) and exclaimed: “Fat boy did a thing.”
And darts sensation Littler, who reached the World Darts Championship final as a 16-year-old earlier this year, replied: “Well in Cammy.” He then added a fist bump emoji.
Menzies was crushed by Littler at a Players Championship event in February as the Nuke came within one dart of throwing a nine-darter during a convincing 6-2 victory. And after that showdown, the defeated player took to X and hilariously wrote: “Anyone got any Vaseline?”

Menzies had previously given his reaction to Littler’s 8-6 Dutch Masters finals defeat at the hands of Michael van Gerwen in January as he penned on social media: “Luke Littler is amazing but MVG is MVG. Just class. Some game.”
Menzies then went full Littler earlier this month as he vowed to play more video games after crashing out of the World Grand Prix in the opening round.

“Some good news man,” he scribed. “Finally got reduced hours at work means more time on FIFA. Sorry dart board.”

But he clearly didn’t suffer from his FIFA binge if his performances in Leicester are anything to go by. And after his triumph over Bunting, Menzies explained: “I’ve won a Pro Tour, and nobody can ever take that away from me. I wanted to win this title so much – I’m absolutely buzzing. This means so much to me.

“At one stage I never thought I was good enough to win a Pro Tour, but I believe right now I’m playing the best darts of my life.
“I’m playing against the best players in the world here. And I feel when I’m on my game, I can match them – and I never thought I’d be able to do that.
“Hopefully this is a stepping stone to winning a major, like Ritchie [Edhouse] and Mike De Decker have done recently.”
