Five golfers at risk of losing 2025 PGA Tour status midway through fall schedule with Joel Dahmen

The PGA Tour’s fall schedule may not have many of golf’s superstars, but the intrigue in the sport continues unabated. This is a critical time for many, as the points earned in these events contribute heavily to FedEx Cup status, which ultimately determines who can play on the PGA Tour next year.

Only the top 125 players hold membership cards, so members below the threshold are at grave risk. The people above could be in trouble depending on their subsequent performance.

Speaking of which, here are five golfers who may need to do something special to avoid this dubious distinction.

Kevin Tway is in a difficult situation right now. Among those not currently in the top 125, he ranks first. Ranked 126th, Tway is on the verge of crossing that threshold. That’s the good news, he’s closest, the bad news is he’s not that much higher than the others and he hasn’t yet earned the points needed to earn a 2025 card. Last time, he placed 35th at the Black Desert Championship.

4) Joe Highsmith

PGA Tour golfer Joe Highsmith currently holds a slight lead. He will be 125th. In other words, he claims to be the last golf player who won the membership in 2025. The 1.021 points of highs mistakes are ahead of Matwares, the next competitors. Despite his slim lead, Highsmith will not only need to perform well but also continue to outperform players lower in the standings this year to retain his tour card. He helped himself to a points lead with a T16 finish at the Shriners Children’s Open. Also read – Alejandro Tosti had some notable appearances this season, but not enough to join next year. He is currently ranked 127th, so he has some catching up to do. He has a chance to bounce back in the coming weeks as he trails the golfer ranked 125th by just three points. Tostee was T9th at the Shriners Kids Open so he moved up the leaderboard a bit. 2) Matt: Matt Wallace barely has his PGA Tour membership card. He is currently ranked 124th and could sink if he performs poorly in the remaining tournaments. He is just four points above 126th in the projected rankings, a small gap for him to manage this autumn. Wallace has mainly competed in DP World Tour events, most recently the Andalusia Masters. He was T20 in this event.

1) Joël Dahmen

Joel Dahmen entered last week, was 124th out of 125. Then the unthinkable happened: the golfer was given a four-stroke penalty for having an extra club in his bag, a blatant oversight by the golfer and his caddie. And finding himself one spot higher than where he was before, Dahmen had to withdraw, and he’s not in the best position to hold onto his PGA Tour membership card. Over the weekend, he dropped to 129th place. Dahmen will compete in the Zozo Championship this weekend. “Tired of his bullshit” – NFL fans react to Christian McCaffrey calling 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk a “former teammate” amid trade rumors
